Afarean never screens you.

Afarean is a private practice and coaching tool. Faria, an AI mentor, helps you rehearse and improve — and that is the whole job. Afarean makes no hiring or employment decision, it reads no emotions, and it never screens, ranks, or scores you for an employer. If we ever add a way to connect you with employers, it will be strictly opt-in, decided by people, and on your terms. This page explains those commitments — and how a few of them are enforced in our code, not just promised in words.
We make no hiring decision
Afarean is not an automated employment-decision tool. It does not hire, reject, shortlist, rank, or order candidates, and it does not tell any employer who to advance. Faria's only role is to help you prepare. Any decision about a real job is always made by people — never by Afarean.
We never read emotions
Afarean does not infer emotion, mood, or confidence — not from your words, your voice, or your face. Where we report on delivery, we report only observable, mechanical facts: speaking pace, filler-word counts, pause lengths, and — only if you turn on the optional, on-device camera analysis — descriptive measures like roughly how centered your gaze stays. These are counts and timings, never a judgment of how you felt.
Your coaching scores stay yours
The scores in your review — how an answer rated against the practice rubric, an overall practice score, your delivery metrics — exist to help you improve. They are private to you and are never shown to an employer.
This is not only a promise. In our code, a coaching score and an employer-matching record are different types that cannot be mixed: it is a build-time error for a practice score to end up in anything that could be shared for a match. A match can only ever hold facts you declared — the role you want, your target level, where you will work, your compensation expectation, and your work-authorization status — and nothing about how you performed in practice.
Any employer connection is mutual-consent and human-decided
There is no employer marketplace today. If one is ever built, it will be bound by a rule we have already written into the code: an introduction can only happen when every one of these is true —
- You opted in to being introduced, and you can withdraw that at any time.
- An employer explicitly asked to connect — a person taking an action.
- A human made the decision to connect the two of you; nothing is automated.
- Only facts you declared are ever shared — never a coaching score, a rubric result, a delivery metric, or any emotion (we infer none).
A declared-fact match is at most a suggestion to people; it is never a decision, and it is never sufficient on its own to connect you with anyone.
You are in control
You choose what to share and when. You can practice forever without ever being introduced to anyone. You can permanently delete your account and all of your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we store and how to erase it.
Where this applies
The optional on-device camera analysis and any future employer connection are turned off for visitors in the EEA and the UK, where biometric and automated- decision rules are stricter. This is a deliberately conservative guardrail, not a legal opinion.
