Terms of Service

1. What Afarean is

Afarean is a private practice and coaching tool. Faria, an AI mentor, runs a spoken mock interview and gives you a review of your answers and delivery. It is practice for the real thing. It never screens, ranks, scores, or reports you to employers — it is not an automated employment-decision tool — it does not read emotions, and it does not guarantee any interview, job, or other outcome. If we add ways to connect you with employers, that will always be opt-in and on your terms. See our Trust & Safety page for the full commitment. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Afarean. The service is US-first and intended for personal, non-commercial practice.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time magic link sent to your email (no password). You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to:

• Provide truthful information about yourself when you practice.
• Not scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or otherwise abuse the service or its content, and not overload, disrupt, or attempt to break our systems.
• Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying models, prompts, or source code.
• Not use the service for anything unlawful, or to upload content you don't have the right to use or that contains another person's private information without their permission.
• Not resell, sublicense, or share your account access.

5. Practice, not cheating

Afarean exists to help you prepare and present your realability well. It is not a tool to help you misrepresent yourself, cheat in a live interview, or circumvent an employer's assessment. Use it to get ready, not to deceive.

6. Your content and the license you grant

You own your content — your profile, résumé and job-description text, transcripts, and the like. To operate the service for you, you grant Afarean a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process that content solely to run the service — for example, to personalize your practice, transcribe your answers, and generate your review. We do not use it to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell it. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to routine backups and legal requirements. Our privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

7. AI output

Faria's questions, feedback, and reviews are generated by AI. They can be imperfect or occasionally wrong, and they are for practice only — they are not professional, career, legal, or other advice, and they are not a promise of any result. Use your own judgment.

8. Billing

Afarean is currently free; paid plans are not enabled. The terms in this section apply only if and when paid plans are turned on. If they are, prices will be shown in US dollars, subscriptions renew for the stated period until you cancel, you can cancel anytime from the billing portal to stop future charges, and payments are handled by our payment processor. Any additional plan-specific terms shown at checkout also apply.

9. Termination

You can stop using Afarean at any time and delete your account and data from your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that could harm other users, us, or third parties. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any practice will lead to a job, offer, or interview outcome.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afarean and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, opportunities, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any disputes will be handled in the courts located there. (Placeholder — to be finalized with counsel before public launch.)

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. If you keep using Afarean after an update, you accept the revised terms.
